Blog 4: Stress Reduction Through Meditation

For this assignment I decided to try mediation to reduce my stress and anxiety. Mediation is very simple to perform. All you have to do is set aside 15 to 20 minutes to sit down, close your eyes, and focus all your attention on breathing. I sat down outside in my backyard and gave this technique a shot. I closed my eyes and focused all of my attention on breathing deeply in and out for 20 minutes. When I finally opened my eyes I felt uplifted, relaxed, and mentally rejuvenated. All of the stress I had vanished and I felt energized. I think that meditation is a great technique to cope with the feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed, and I would definitely do it again. I believe the reason everyone is so stressed is because in our modern world we are so busy that we forget to take time to fully breath.

  3. I honestly think for me meditation seems so difficult to do. Absoltely clearing your mind of any thoughts seems so hard to do. But, I feel like meditation would be so soothing and super relaxing. Oh, and nice picture by the way.

  4. Meditation is hard to do at times because your mind is constantly racing and people do not take the time to just let everything go because it almost seems unproductive. It does seem like a really good relaxing technique, I do not know how you managed to do it so easily tho. And I like the picture you posted, reminds me of you 50 years from now.
